Our residence was located far from Tashkent, and it wasn't always convenient to use public transportation to get to the city, so we would take taxis. My first impression of Uzbekistan was also formed in a taxi when I arrived by train and couldn't find a SIM card, so I had to rely on the services of a bumpy ride. Among other distinctive features of Uzbek taxis was the music playing on the radio. I immediately latched onto that and started periodically using Shazam to identify the songs I liked, without any specific purpose. When the idea of audio diaries emerged, I used my collection and the capabilities of digital sound processing to express my frustratingly blurred state of mind. Beautiful music reaches my consciousness through the maze of disturbing thoughts about the present, losing its original form. And I ride into the unknown, observing the surroundings through the windshield of a Tashkent taxi.

Наша резиденция находилась в отдалении от Ташкента а добираться в город на общественном транспорте не всегда удобно, поэтому мы ездили на такси. Первое впечатление от Узбекистана я тоже получил в такси, когда приехал на поезде, не смог найти симку и пришлось воспользоваться услугами бомбилы. Кроме прочих особенностей, которые отличали узбекское такси - была игравшая по радио музыка. Я сразу зацепился за это и начал периодически шазамить понравившиеся мне композиции без всякой цели. Когда появилась идея об аудио-дневниках я использовал свою коллекцию и возможности цифрового звукового процессинга чтобы выразить своё фрустрирующе замутнённое состояние. Прекрасная музыка долетает до моего сознания через лабиринт жутких мыслей о настоящем, теряя свой изначальный облик. А я еду в неизвестность, наблюдая за окружающим через лобовое стекло ташкентского такси.
