It all started when my colleague at the Institute of Computational Modeling gifted me with his family audio collection - two rather heavy boxes with unmarked cassettes. Among the recordings, there was pop music, rare performances of orchestras and bards rerecorded from vinyl, as well as several performances, the origin of which is difficult to determine. From time to time I took different samples from the collection to add a bit extra to my compositions, but this time I wanted to make an album with the cassettes being the only source material.
The technical idea was to find a suitable piece of music and, using granular synthesis, stretch it in such a way that the result would be a living, constantly and randomly changing sound canvas, homogeneous, yet without repetitions.
As for the meanings, the album speaks of the ideas of hauntology - the feeling of deja vu, the traumatic experience of false memories, and the cancellation of the future.
The archive of old cassettes that ended up in my hands by chance, which I randomly turned to while working on the album, has eventually become my memory.

Началось всё с того, что мой коллега по работе в институте вычислительного моделирования подарил мне свою семейную аудио-коллекцию - две довольно увесистых коробки с кассетами без опознавательных знаков. Среди записей встречались эстрада, переписанные с винила раритетные исполнения оркестров и бардов, а так же несколько исполнений, историю которых сложно определить. Время от времени я брал из этой коллекции различные куски, что бы дополнять ими свои композиции, но в этот раз я захотел сделать альбом, исходным материалом для которого будут служить только эти кассеты.
Техническая идея заключалась в том, что бы найти подходящий музыкальный отрезок и с помощью гранулярного синтеза растянуть его во времени таким образом, что бы в результате получить живое, постоянно и беспорядочно меняющееся звуковое полотно, гомогенное, но не имеющее повторений.
Что же касается области смыслов, то альбом обращается к идеям призракологии - ощущению дежавю, травмирующему опыту ложных воспоминаний, отмене будущего.
Случайно попавший ко мне архив старых кассет, к которому в процессе работы над альбомом я обращался в случайном порядке, в итоге стал моим собственным воспоминанием.
